Are The New Zodiac Signs 2011 Bogus, A Scam, Or A Mistake?

No need to panic!  Your zodiac sign didn't change. You can relax. The New Zodiac Signs 2011 drama will soon go away. But it was kind of scary though.

An end-of-the-world-style panic has been developing since it was announced that all of us would have to take on new zodiac signs.

News Flash!  There's more to this story.

No need to worry about whether your significant other will leave you because "you just aren't the same person you used to be".

The authorities did in fact recognize that a new 13th zodiac sign, Ophiuchus, was necessary.

Since none of this applies to western astrology, it's NOT likely that any of this applies to you.

Astrologer Jeff Jawer with tarot.com has come to the rescue and says this:

"When we look at the astrology used in the Western world, the seasonally based astrology has not    changed, was never oriented to the constellations, and stands as … has been stated for two millenniums."

"Astrology is geocentric. It relates life on Earth to the Earth’s environment, and seasons are the most dramatic effect, which is why we use the tropical zodiac."

Raymon Merrimon's sees the story about the zodiac as bogus:

"A story is going around stating that the signs of the zodiac astrologers use are wrong. This is not true. The signs have been based on the seasons, not the constellations, for over 2000 years. The source at the Minnesota Planetarium Society that put out this statement is either ignorant or intentionally misleading."

What a relief! I understand that an Ophiuchus is seen as a healer, doctor, a man of medicine, scientist, intellectual, and successful.  Which one of you Sagitiarians were ready to take on all that?

Sayounara Ophiuchus, it's been nice but...

Was this panic one of those "gotchas" for you?
